Form: A Collaborative Screenwriting Project

Want to delve into the protagonist inside us all?

Form: A Collaborative Screenwriting Project is seeking participants for a paid study.

We’re looking for participants of an im/migrant background between the ages of 18-30 to collaborate on a paid screenwriting project. Form aims to challenge the hierarchies in filmmaking practice through a collaborative approach that amplify historically decentred voices through a screenplay where the narrative development and screenwriting process is shared equally among co-writers.

The project will look at whether a narrative short film project in which participants create fictional characters based on their lived experiences allows for more authentic expression of their personal narratives than self portrayal in documentary film projects.

Over a 6-week period we will collaborate to find the stories inside us we want to share and each develop a fictional character to tell them. Through narrative and screenwriting craft workshops that cover character development, screenplay structure, genre, theme, and tone, we will co-write a film screenplay that combines each of our characters journeys.

On completion, we will present the screenplay via a reading to a select audience of family and friends.

A $500 gift card will honor full participation in the project (approximately 20 hours commitment in total).

Please direct any questions about the project to Madeleine here.
